Haul: The Face Shop

Today I decided to treat myself to a new skin care routine because I wasn't happy with my dull looking complexion. I had a great time  at Nex learning all about the products that The Face Shop provides and I'm really happy with the service there. I was attended to by this young Malay woman, Hasalina, who really knew what she was talking about! She didn't, in any way, try to scam me for my money and really cared about what my skin needed. Hasalina is just a doll. She took the time to listen to my routine and advised me on the things that I was either doing wrong or the using products that weren't suitable for my skin. I am super stoked about these products and I can't wait to jump right in and add them to my skin care routine!

The Face Shop is actually having a GSS of 15% and also a Student sale of 10% off!

Time to reveal the mystery products! Please not that these products were carefully chosen for oily combination skin type. Please ask for assistance when choosing products for your particular skin type.

The very first product that I was eyeing when I walked in was this Wash-Off-Mask. I was really concerned about not being able to clean out my pores properly. As anyone living in Singapore would know, the humid weather really tends to clog up our pores and cause acne which, of course, no one wants! The store had quite a few selections to choose from but when I asked which was the best for my skin, Hasalina recommended this particular one. One of the reasons why I love The Face Shop so much is because they try their best to keep their products as natural as possible. In fact, at the back of this package it says that it excludes parabens, mineral oil, artificial colouring, benzopherone and animal sourced materials.

The texture is more or less a clay like consistency like any pore cleansing mask is.

It is recommended to leave the mask on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing with warm. I was surprised as to how quickly the mask dried. My hand instantly glowing and it felt a lot smoother!

This Chia Seed Watery Eye & Spot Essence is meant to help with dark circles and also acne scars. If you've read my previous posts or seen my posts on Instagram then you can see the scars that I have around my forehead and chin area and I was desperate to get rid of them.

The product was very light weight as it is a thin creamy constancy.

The product was absorbed almost instantly and it didn't take much effort to rub in. My skin actually felt more hydrated!

One of the things I learnt from Hasalina (which I'm ashamed that I didn't know before) is that oily combination skin types should use gel based moisturisers. For as long as I can remember I was using thick and creamy moisturisers which, was a huge mistake! No wonder I couldn't clean out my pores! I present to you the Chia Seed Sebum Control Moisture Cream which contains 0% oil which is perfect for controlling acne. Hasalina warned me that this particular product does in fact have a certain type of alcohol and do you know why? To a certain extent some products needs to have some alcohol because this helps with controlling acne.

As I mentioned before, this is a gel based moisturiser which is super light weight!

The moisturiser was absorbed instantly and didn't feel oily. It left my skin feeling baby soft.

So recently my thicker eye liner finished and since I was at The Face Shop I thought why not just get it from here.

I didn't want a thin liner like the one I'm currently using because you can't really style with that tip and it's quite hard to use. I know you can't really see and I'm sorry I couldn't get a closer shot but my phone wouldn't focus if it was any closer but this Extreme Dot Pen EyeLiner actually has 2 slits. These slits make it much easier to apply.

You can actually use this eye line in 2 ways depending on whether you're looking for a thinner or thicker line. The best part about this eye liner? It's smudge proof!

Price After Sale: $21.41

Ok I confess! I don't use a make up remover on my face... I usually just wash it off with my face wash but since I was gonna start paying more attention to my skin, I figured I need a make up remover, especially since I wear BB/CC Cream nearly everyday. This is the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Milk which, again, is perfect for my skin type.

When attempting to remove the eye liner with my fingers, nothing much seem to happen. WELL OBVIOUSLY! When removing your make up it's always easier to use a cotton pad!

And Voila! Completely clean and smooth!

Since I ended up spending over $120 I was entitled to 2 free lucky draws!

I cannot express how in love I am with face sheets and I'm so ecstatic that I received 2 Acai Berry face sheets! They're extremely rehydrating and not to mention relaxing after a long stressful day.

I also had the pleasure of receiving Herb Day Cleansing Wipes. These are actually on the go cleansing wipes which is perfect for travelling! Whenever I travel back to Malta I ALWAYS get smelly oily skin and I absolutely can't stand it! This is so ideal to clear off all the oil and rehydrate your skin!

If that wasn't enough, I received lots of free samples, a couple of vouchers and also 2 monthly calendars/posters of Kim Soo Hyun!

Feast your eyes on this irresistible samples! I would have opened them up to show you the texture but I didn't want them to dry out! If you would like me to review these samples go ahead and leave a comment on this post!

This is the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam which, I was so tempted to buy but I already own 3 face washes that are nowhere near finished....

Next up is the Febeaute White Crystal Diamond Peeling. I'm quite curious to try this product just because I've never used this kind of exfoliator before. I'm a little concern that it might be a little harsh on my skin though.

I thought it was quite amusing that I received this as a sample! This is the Chia Seed Moisture-Holding Seed Cream. This is actually quite similar to the one I purchased. I believe the only difference is that this one contains oil but I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me!

If there's one thing I love equally to skin care products, that one thing would be hair care products! I was given the Elastine Shampoo and Conditioner de Perfume in the Pure Breeze scent. I was told that this is a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner which is something I really look for in hair care products because it tends to strip the natural oils from the hair.

Who doesn't like discount vouchers?!

Last but certainly not least, the handsome Kim Soo Hyun on the monthly calendar.

Take Care xx
